How to Get That Internship
Summer is fast approaching and your schedule is looking a bit…well, empty. Freedom feels SO good, but it can also feel a bit…
Your parents want you to get an internship, which doesn’t sound like a bad idea, but HOW DO YOU GET ONE?!
You start researching and things get really real FAST.
And you think, “This is actually way too hard!”
But before you start feeling like this…
I’m here to help.
I’ve been on a search for the perfect internship myself, and I know that there are certain ground rules:
Doing all the research takes time. Don’t procrastinate.
Putting off the work you have to do now is only going to cause you problems in the future.
Finding the right internship and learning about the companies you’re applying to means sitting at the computer and searching…for hours…
After a while you’re going to want to give up.
BUT DON’T! Keep going…
And don’t just think about what you bring to the table. Think about what the internship can offer you. Sometimes admitting that a certain company is not the right place for you is the hardest part.
But, once you DO find the right internship, it will feel like this:
Now that you have the internship, be on time or else your boss will be like…
Avoid wardrobe malfunctions…
If you make a mistake, own up to it.
Be professional and approachable, because this is not a good look:
Most importantly, don’t forget to be yourself! Besides, Demi Lovato believes in you.
Just remember – of all the other candidates, they chose YOU.
So…BE HAPPY! YOU GOT AN INTERNSHIP!
Get close with your fellow interns….
(but not too close, if you know I mean).
You don’t want to make things awkward at the office.
Happy internship hunting!
