Garbage Day

Coffee and Lights

So it’s been a rough couple of weeks here – mostly because I barely escaped November with all of my body parts attached – but I’ve gotten really good at turning around those garbage days when I need to.

Here’s a list of my no-fail go-to’s.¬† In the comments below, tell me what your personal antidotes are, and let’s pool our resources!

In no particular order:

  1. Spontaneous Bon Jovi sing-alongs
  2. Any kind of foot rub that I don’t have to give myself
  3. Elastic waistbands
  4. Rooms lit by Christmas lights
  5. Masterpiece Theater marathons
  6. 30-page diner menus (with all-day breakfast)
  7. A good salon hair blow-out
  8. Unabashed consumerism (I find it impossible to say no in stationery stores)
  9. Sitting next to bodies of water (bigger than my bathtub)
  10. Screen porches on rainy days

  1. Well thank goodness November is over — I’m hoping December is looking up for you!

To you list I add: (1) unabashed dancing to Beyonce, (2) head massages, and (3) a really hard work out (sometimes a little physical exhaustion puts everything in perspective, at least for me).
